Text: BIELSCHOWSKY (BIELSZOWSKI) Juliusz (Louis) (31.10.1850 Pszczyna/Upper Sliesia - 23.05.1934 Lodz). Industrialist. Son of Adolf and Fryderyka nee Schiller. In 1875, together with his brother-in-law, Arnold (Aron) Stiller, he opened at 78/82, Ceglana (Jaracza) Street a wool goods factory, which was in 1894 transformed into joint-stock company Manufaktura We?niana. In 1905, about 600 workers worked there and an annual turnover came to 1 500 000 roubles. In Warsaw, there was a branch of this company and its main factory outlet was at 24, Potrkowsa Street in Lodz. Bielschowsky was a president of the board of the joint-stock company Stiller and Bielszowski, director (1902-1904) and then (from 1904) a board member of the ?ódzkie Towarzystwo Wzajemnego Kredytu and Towarzystwo Kredytowe, funder and founder of the ?ódzkie ?ydowskie Twarzystwo Niesienia Pomocy Po?o?nicom I Niemowl?tom, active member of the Lodz association "Talmud Tora" (1909-1914) and the Committee "Uzdrowiska", co-founder and member of the council of the ?ódzki Spó?dzielczy Bank Dyskontowy and a juror of the Municipality of Lodz. Buried in the cemetery at Bracka Street (right side, section D, grave no. 243). Married to Matylda (17.08.1865-8.11.1939) nee Nothman. Had a 3 children: Adolf, engineer, board member of the of the Widzewska Manufaktura, who in 1937 lived at 29, Sterlinga Street, Oskar, graduate of the Technical University of Heidelberg and Friburg, and Frieda, author of the doctor's dissertation entitled "Textilindustrie der Lodzer rayons. Ihr Werden und ihre Bedeutung" (Leipzig 1912).
